Rescued Pup

By now my followers have realised that I'm an animal lover, I've inherited this from both my parents, mostly my father though.  He will never let a stray animal without food & if possible shelter.

He has over the past years converted his large garage space (two garages previously used as his vehicle spray paint workshop) into living quarters for around 25 cats and two dogs.

In the past years a small colony of dogs appeared close to where my parents reside.  The dogs were not welcomed by the rest of the neighbours I'm afraid, since they were trashing the road when stealing garbage bags, barking during the night and marking their territory and scarring off passersby not because they are vicious dogs but they are large breeds and tend to scare people who are not accustomed to dogs.

My parents have been feeding this small colony which over the years has grown larger and larger.  They are very fearful dogs and although mum and dad feed them and dad tries to interact with them, they never come close enough to let him pet them.  We arranged to have the Animal Welfare Officers come on different occasions to try to catch the dogs and possibly re home them since they were risking being poisoned by one of the nasty neighbours.  The officers spent hours on end trying to catch the dogs which would simply dart off into the wooded area and could not be caught.

The dogs are not neutered resulting in seasonal puppies being born.  Dad was successful in catching a few puppies over the years, and some were adopted by German agencies who in turn found homes for them in Germany, whilst others where homed by dad through his friends and friends of friends.

In the past few weeks, dad noticed there where two puppies in the colony and after several days of struggling to catch them - a gentle neighbour managed to catch one and take it to my parents.

The pup spent a night with mum and dad and this morning was collected by Animal Welfare Officers, he will be taken to a vet for checkups and placed on an adoption list.

really hope they can find a loving home for the little one - he deserves a good family to share the rest of his life with.

Update - HAPPY ENDINGS - AWD contacted me to inform me that the Pup has been adopted, hours after it was delivered to them from the hospital ... he has been adopted by a lovely lady from Birzebbugia, AWD personally described her as an angel.  She recently lost her son therefore she has a lot of love to give and I'm sure our pup will be reciprocating all that love back to her.
